Honestly the Pulev fight for the wba regular is a better fight for Chisora than wardley at this stage.
Becoming a "regular" world champion would be a nice way for Chisora to sign off. No it's not a real world title but it's as close as Chisora will ever get.Goatintheboat likes this.

Still unclear why he needs to drop the British title even if he is fighting for the WVA regular one?
Interesting to see what they do with Wardley, he's a bit raw but just wonder if now is the time to go in against the real big boys

Personally I think they should roll the dice on him as soon as possible vs a high profile opponent.Goatintheboat likes this.

It's going to be interesting to see if the BBBofC make a statement at tomorrows monthly meeting. Yes the WBA regular/ordanary strap gives him the #1 mandatory for a real title, but all said & done I think I'd rather have the prestigious Lonsdale belt in my trophy cabinet than the WBA secondary ****le!!......
Any of those would be good fights in their own way

The British Title overall is a better title 'Than the WBA regular title, in terms of prestige. Fabio Wardley as the British Champion, in my opinion? Could be fighting higher level opponent's than Kubret Pulev has been of late as the WBA regular Champion'.
Lets all think back, to when Tyson Fury vacated his British and Commonwealth titles 'Because he wanted to tactically avoid fighting David Price. Instead? Tyson Fury fought a fighter called Vinny Maddalone a domestic level American Heavyweight fighter'.
The point I am trying to make is? Tyson Fury potentially could have been smashed up by David Price at that stage of their careers. Stylistically Price for at least the first half of the fight, is as dangerous as any Heavyweight fighter has been during this Heavyweight era. It is a well known fact that Tyson Fury tactically avoided David Price, and chose not to fight in the then biggest fight of his career by far'.
In retrospect the tactical avoidance which Tyson Fury used during that stage of his career 'Was actually great career guidance. Because 5 fights, and 5 wins later Tyson Fury fought against Wladimir Kiltschko for the Unified WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO and Lineal Ring Magazine Heavyweight titles'.
If Fabio Wardley remains the British Heavyweight Champion, and is focused on defending this title 'There is a medium to high likely-hood that he will potentially get smashed up by somebody sooner rather than later'.
Note: Fabio Wardley is a aggressive and game fighter, but skill for skill fighters like Wardley and Clarke are in my opinion not even on the level of past British Heavyweight fighters such as Danny Williams, Audley Harrison, Michael Sprott, Juluis Francis and Matt Skelton. That entire era of British Heavyweight fighters were most likely superior than today's era below Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. The British Heavyweight Division's during those times was definitively more competitive and overall there was just a greater depth within the domestic heavyweight division'.
To conclude: I personally think if a fighter has the British Title, then they should at the very least win that title outright 'After achieving such a feat, then that is the point when they can vacate the title. I believe Fabio Wardley needs to defend his British title, one more time before he has won the title outright. In order for a fighter to win the Lonsdale British title outright, they must defend the title a number of 4 times. Fabio Wardley to his credit has defended the British title already 3 times'.
The question is for Fabio Wardley? What Heavyweight fighter is next in line, to fight for the British title? Derek Chisora, Joe Joyce, Dillian Whyte. Those fighters all seem like contenders who could fight Fabio Wardley next for the British title. Maybe a fight against Derek Chisora would be a good fight for Wardley, but? Chisora for his 50th fight, is most likely going to want to compete in a bigger boxing event'.
Overall, I understand the theory behind Fabio Wardley's potential tactics 'But he only has to defend his British title one more time, before he wins it out right. There is no reason why that 4th defense, cannot be a big fight vs a solid level Heavyweight fighter' etc.
