Comments Thread For: Bad blood between David Benavidez and David Morrell is no more

The rivalry between David Benavidez and David Morrell was heated and passionate before they entered the ring, and that tension continued between the two light heavyweight contenders during their fight Saturday night.

It's funny how Morrell tried to get into Benevidez's head, and was successful, but at the same time, also got caught up emotionally, and completely threw away the game plan. He needed to box, but decide to brawl. Bad decision, thus the result.

Morell wasn’t successful into getting in nobody’s head lol if anything if the was the other way around, they were both talking trash but as soon as David benavidez mentioned drug testing and steroids Morell went insane and so did his team. As soon benavidez told Morell his manger was taking most of the money for the fight, even the manager Luis de Cuba’s went ape shed lmao benavidez got into the whole teams head

Nah. For Benevides it WAS personal, you could tell the way he came out, and the way he fought the first rounds. And how are you gonna lecture someone about PED's when you have Heredia in your corner? lol and re lol

Morrell might have gotten into Benavidez's head but not in a way that helped Morrell.
He probably made things worse for himself.

This show went according to a traditional boxing script. Name calling and trash talking before the fight and mad respect for each other after a 12 round grueling war.

In terms of the strategy Morell used for the fight, he probably did all he could do (and he did well). Before the fight, a lot of people were talking about Morrell being a better boxer because of his Cuban training. It turns out that Benavidez is a better boxer and a better slugger. If there is anyone that can outbox him at LHW it is only Bivol and the only person that can out slug him at LHW is Arthur.

              Shhhhhhh don’t mention that
It goes totally against his narrative of being a clown
He states that Morrell is better than the unified light heavyweight champion
Did I forget to mention he broke off with Canelo and now is riding that digh with Benny

That's what separates Boxing from savagery , the respect and sportsmanship shown after the battle. It's a beautiful thing.
The best example that I have ever seen of that was the post fight behavior between Nonito Donaire and Nicolas Axe Man Walters. If that didn't move you , you're dead inside.

Look at those Benavidez Trunks. They are high a ****.
No room for body shots unless they hit the Trunks, and they might call it a low blow.

I wasn’t pleased with Morrell’s behavior in the lead-up to the fight, but I was very happy with it in the aftermath. I was gratified to see both warriors exchange embraces and display mutual respect, both immediately after the fight and at the press conference afterwards. De Cubas, on the other hand, was an embarrassment. Just one of these old men that thinks he’s thirty years younger, acting all gangster with a professional fighter. What an old fool he is.
