Comments Thread For: David Morrell Jnr exudes quiet confidence in hours before David Benavidez bout

On Wednesday, as David Morrell Jnr strode through the MGM Grand with only a sparse entourage, he envisioned how this will all change should he execute the fight plan he is convinced will topple David Benavidez, considered the sport?s most-avoided man.

I like Morrell, great talent and great fighter but...I don't think he has the power and mentality to get the respect of Benavidez. Morrell is a great fighter don't get me wrong, but going backwards he gets cracked too much and he is not going to keep Benavidez off him. Benavidez UD

I think If Morrell can take Benavidez's punches then he will be a real problem for Benavidez. That's a hell of an ask though, much luck to both fighter and I definitely cant wait to watch this one.

I don't see Benavidez as being more powerful than Morrell, it's more his work rate, especially in later rounds, that could prove a deciding factor.

Such a great fight. 2 undefeated fighters in their prime and both with power. If benavidez can take morrell power I think he stops him late. Benavidez is going to press foward and does such a great job at cutting off the ring and I expect Morrell to use angles and counter.

I see this as a very competitive fight that goes the distance with perhaps a few knock downs, i will put a bet on a draw.

This week's pre-fight build-up, the chatter, and watching the demeanor of the two fighters very closely has made me decide to change my prediction.
                    I now see David winning.
