He’s fighting stannois INSTEAD of fighting Ortiz jr or any of the “big names” he called for. Stannois wouldn’t even be top 9 at 154. Crawford bek fundora Tim tyszu Ortiz jr Madrimov Bohachuk conwell xayas would all be ranked above him. He’s 28 in June. Doing what Ortiz jr was trying to do 2 years ago but he’s older now and the division is now barren. Thats the difference. As i pointed out the top 2 at WW wouldn’t even be in the top 9 at 154. That should tell you exactly why bootsy is taking this fight. If he wins he can tell everyone he’s the best WW in the world. And he’ll be right. Furthering the myth of bootsy ootsy ennis. Ruling the most pathetic era in WW history. I think he’ll have big problems with stannois. Let’s see how it plays out

Let’s see how it plays out. Stanionis first order of business.
In the context of a weak WW division, how do you rate Crawford’s Career at WW based on the opponents he beat?

Crawford’s career at WW left a bit to be desired but I can’t really knock it. While his reign was also weak it’s much better than the current champions. He took out horn pretty thoroughly who won that robbery over Pacquaio then was stagnant till he fought a coming out of retirement re retirement kell Brook fight lol. Then Porter and Spence, both stoppages so that was impressive..sort of. More so Spence cause that was just a destruction, but Porter while a blue collar lunch pale great fighter in his own right isn’t quite “special”. Crawford took out Spence who was considered a top fighter p4p so that in itself validates his 147 even if he never defended the undisputed title. Not a great talent pool but there were some great fighters that Crawford beat and one future HOFamer maybe 2

Finally, we’re in agreement 100% edievisloy how you defined Shawn Porter. Dude was always game even when he came up short. If he was to unretire, he’d beat almost everyone at WW.
Except my boy Boots of course lol

I liked Shawn a lot. Tbh tho prime Porter wasn’t as good as prime Brook. I think if Crawford fought Brook in England when Spence did years earlier the fight would’ve been very different. I also felt Ugas beat Porter. Ugas was very very good in his run before he fell off a cliff there. I dont know what happened between the pac fight and the Spence fight but Ugas took a nosedive there

Once again, I am in agreement 100%

Porter and Danny Garcia are two guys that will not be looked at favorably historically just because they came up short in their big fights. They weren’t dominated at all.
