    I had that issue.

You can tell you was actually watching the fights and following boxing back then. These guys are piecing things together now with boxrec.

Mayweather/Mosely was the talk it was a hardcore fight fans dream matchup. Floyd thew cold water on it when he said he wasn't jumping up to lw, and Mosely moved up to ww after that, fought Rivera and Oscar.

A whole bunch of welterweights and Pacqiao heard the cries of Broner, Brandon Rios, Mathysse, Jesse Vargas, a just beaten Mosley and a Korean K-Pop guy. Wow!

Mosley’s first biggest paycheck came from the Oscar fight. In 1999, neither Floyd nor Mosley were bankable stars. So the idea that them fighting in 1999 was just wishful thinking from their promoters.

But let’s take a look at what Mosley said then, “I asked him, Are you planning on coming up to lightweight to fight me? And he said, No, He had no intention of coming to lightweight to fight me, he wanted t beat Carlos Monzons record. He didnt want to come to lightweight. Thats when I jumped from lightweight to welterweight to fight Oscar De La Hoya. That was the first incident that hes talking about, so heturned me down in 1999.”

Assuming this is the gospel truth, Floyd did not want to move up to fight him. What exactly is wrong with that? To make the fight, Mosley could have dropped to 130 to push for the fight.

From what I am reading, Mosley was struggling to make 135 so clearly he was already past the 135 weight. It’s what some call being a weight bully.

I also looked Up the “Floyd ducked Winky” myth. Turns out it was just that. A myth.

My thoughts are, Floyd didn’t think the fight would have been a career defining blockbuster fight. Turns out he was right.

So that means Floyd couldn't fight a legit welterweight?

Cotto Margarito Williams was calling him out, and all he heard was a lightweight

Brian Kenny called him out on it

Let's see past prime Oscar lost a close split to Mayweather. Mayweather's pops actually thought Oscar won.

Mayweather retired to welch on the rematch which was to be a year later, so the same past prime Oscar cherrypicked Manny Pacquiao who moved up two divisions to beat the brakes off Oscar to a stoppage, and send him into retirement

The official Floyd Boy excuse for Oscar is he was drained, despite Oscar admitting to alcohol and possibly substance abuse during training

How about he got his bluff called and backed out because he was fighting a guy who was hard to hit, could hit him back, and it was a 50 50 chance of getting a real L.
