MANNY Pacquiao’s training camp is set to add more rounds of sparring with his scheduled fight on November 15 draws nearer.

The six time champion in six different weight categories said with barely less than a month before his highly touted bout against Miguel Cotto, there are still a lot of areas to work on in his training with just a month away from fight night.

The 30-year-old Pacquiao is in the thick of training at the Shape Up gym in Baguio City. He has so far sparred 38 rounds, alternating with Urbano Antillon, undefeated Shawn Porter and the latest new addition at the camp, former world champion Jose Luis Castillo.

Excited na akong lumaban ulit,” said Pacquiao in his website.

Pacquiao is thankful the rains and floods brought about by the recent typhoon "Pepeng" have stopped, allowing him to continue with his roadwork at the Summer Capital of the Philippines.

At the height of the storm, Pacquiao took to doing the treadmill and swimming.

The reigning pound-for-pound king now looks forward to intensifying his workout and sparring sessions as training camp enters its fifth week.

Team Pacquiao, headed by Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach, assistant Buboy Fernandez and conditioning coach Alex Ariza, will continue to hold camp at the City of Pines until next week before leaving for the US on October 24.

The Pinoy champ will spend the next two weeks at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles until Nov. 8 before winding up their buildup in Las Vegas the week before the fight.

On Sunday, Pacquiao takes a break from his rigorous training this weekend when he and famed American trainer Roach will be honored by the Baguio Elderly Assembly (BEA) at the Rose Garden, Burnham Park in Baguio City.

Pacquiao, who will also be conferred as BEA’s adopted son, and his Hall of Fame trainer will be given by BEA plaques of recognition for their exemplary leadership and past achievements during Sunday’s “Parangal Rites" in celebration of the 100th year of Baguio City, which was designed and planned by American architect Daniel Burnham.

“Being BEA’s adopted son, Pacquiao happily accepted the award to be given Sunday," said BEA president and awards committee chairman Nars Padilla.

BEA is the biggest group of elderly associations in Baguio City and Benguet that boasts of a 25,000 membership.
