Comments Thread For: Patriotic Jai Opetaia fought with his heart, not head, back at home

Jai Opetaia believes that the emotion involved in fighting back in Australia inspired the nature of the ?dogfight? he won against David Nyika.

Damn, I literally thought Opetaia & his team came up with that approach as a strategy!

I figured they took a risk by being that aggressive in Round 1 so as not to allow Nyika the chance to find any rhythm at long range, then make him fight Jai's fight & smother him.

    What a casual smh

That was a gunfight at OK Coral. Electrifying, intense and animal like.

His heart is Samoan, his head is Aussie.

        He's Samoan first, Australian second.

Jai Opetaia is % the real deal. As an Australian it is hard not to be biased but after watching "Unbroken" - which i implore everyone to do - i got an inkling that this guy is a once-in-a-lifetime talent. Mark my words...Jai Opetaia, an Australian with a proud Samoan ancestry, will be one of the all-time boxing greats the WORLD has ever seen!

I won’t say no but it’s along way to the top
And after seeing how frequently he gets hit , I’d have to say no
Plus his style won’t make him have a lasting career

A flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long.

And it's a long way to the shop when you want a sausage roll...

So you agree that his career won’t be long the way he fights ???

I reckon once he's unified the belts and made intergenerational wealth he'll quit while hes ahead.

Seems like he's here for a good time not a long time so yeah.I would say he fights to the style and of his opposition but he's got levels they dont.

The bro can bäng or box. If he wants to fight then he'll lose his chin pretty quickly if he wants to box he'll go as far as he wants.
