Boots is waiting for what Eddy promised him. Easy fights and big money. Eddy will short change the comp to prove signing with him is a good move. His guy gets the lions share even for a store bought title. No way Eddy pays for a real threat, that goes against his nature. Look for Boots vs underpaid scrubs until somebody else covers the bill.Comment

Boots really needs a unification or mega-fight next to reclaim his momentum and rebuild his rep, partly due to his last performance but mainly from the public perception of his fight with Ortiz Jr falling through (which wasn't a good look for him however you spin it). He has every chance of beating the other champs and unifying before moving up if - and it's a big if - Eddie can negotiate those fights and play nice with the likes of PBC etc. Welterweight has got to be the worst division at the moment for the top fighters not fighting each other and just perpetually circling. Everyone seems to be stuck in a holding pattern and it's stalling everyone's careers, especially fighters who have a chance to be more than just another contender or placeholder champ. Ennis needs a big fight asap.Comment

Boots signed with Eddy and Eddy has a business style that smells like the tide is out. Cherry picking like farm labor and meddling like a mother in law. Tell me who youre with and Ill tell you what youre doing. Boots is rotting on the vine.Comment
