What was a fight where the loser was too soft??
The reason I ask this is because it's just simply the opposite of fights that were a little too violent ..
So in other words not violent enough. I'm gonna paraphrase what the raging bull Jake lamotta said about a young fighter: something along the lines of" don't let the ref stop the fight, let him catch a true beating so he gets hurt and realizes it right away that he's not cut out for it, instead of figuring it out too late".
I'm gonna say the COMMENTATORS really influence a fight, like when theyre being biased, or unkind, or being a fanboy, trying ta get credit , hating on or simply messing up the call with poor blow by blow commentary .
Well there is a guy named Max Kellerman, he usually picks up on things what only fighters would see, in his shrill boxing fanatic voice lol.
So hence forth, the fight where I felt the loser was too soft was during a heavyweight affair of James lights out toney who weighed in approximately just under 230 if I remember correctly. Against a young unacomplished hw named a Rydell Booker ...
Anyway as the fight went on, max made it a priority to keep mentioning that Booker was taking a beating. It was annoying at times. You see toney blew his bicep out so was basically a one handed fighter. Plus he's a light puncher to begjn with at heavyweight. Toney was winning the bout but I thought about what Jake lamotta said, and felt like why can't he tee off and get this guy outta here? Max kept yelling about a needed stoppage, but it was just the opposite, Rydell needed to be Kayode. One handed toney simply didn't have the power to take him out of there... And no it wasn't a sustained beating, so that's my vote : Rydell Booker was too soft for big James toney.
And if my uncle was voting right now; he would say Billy Irwin vs Juan Diaz... He was watching baby bull give a beatdown, and noticed that Irwin wouldn't go down, my uncle said "I think Juan's not punching with proper punching technique" because he wasn't flooring Billy the kid. Anyway my uncle was watching the crap kicking for so long, that he said "I wish Billy Irwin would ko Juan Diaz just for the heck if it " lol. My uncle. Big boxing fan. But in my recollection this fight was not fought by a softee, both guys came to win. Btw Irwin retired after the fight, probably even busted up his eardrums as he couldn't hear in the post fight interview!
