The best fighters rarely seem to make the best analysts or trainers. All time great Leonard, in particular, was a very poor analyst. Give me Malignaggi and Algieri over him any day of the week. Some of the best analysts, like Emmanuel Steward, never even fought pro. Angelo Dundee never even put on a pair of gloves. -
2 all time greats telling like it is, GTFOH... Let's ask Roy Jones, Holyfield, Duran, Leonard not these two ham n' eggers.Leave a comment:

My biggest gripe - the belt orgs. There should be belts but not given by them. They don't uphold mandatories (WBC) - so what's the point? They manipulate rankings. (WBA) They often have useless fighters at top of their rankings (IBF) - all of which leads to unwanted fights (Berlanga) and stagnation (160/168)Leave a comment:

2024 reminded us all that money still runs prizefighting, just like it should. After all, there's a big clue in the name lol.
Not politics, not duty, not rankings, not independent judges, just good old plain old dirty old money

I thought boxing had a bad year, I use to watch all the Showtime and HBO fights back in the day, now sometimes I pass up and do something else with my time, they just not much getting my attention, butI think one of my favorite fights this year was Bam vs Estrada, that was awesome fightLeave a comment:

A fair call for Usyk as fighter of the year, even though he's not the most exciting.
He does everything very well though, whilst not doing one thing particularly great, is my take.
I like Inoue as pound for pound on raw talent and skill alone, but sure, can argue Usyk or Crawford.
The Tyson-Paul bout was what it was, guess am glad that Mike got the money.
The Bivol-Beterbiev fight gets my vote as the most intriguing and technical fight of the year.Leave a comment:

I think that for the hardcore boxing fans like myself, it was a great year! Props to Turkey!!! As far as for the casual fans, They got underwhelming fights from the superstars of boxing without knowing it. It’s sad, We need the Canelos and Tanks to carry this sport in legit competitive fights without all the handicaps and rehydration clauses. Ryan Garcia wants all the smoke when he’s back! Hate him or love him we need him in boxing!Leave a comment:
