Taken that Abraham-Taylor will be on tape delay, will EPSN display the results on the Bottomline right away? If so, to ask a red blooded American fan not to watch ESPN on a Saturday to prevent the spoiler is highly laughable.

I have no idea but I would imagine so. ESPN is in the business of delivering NEWS, not waiting for Showtime to televise something. Please.
Fortunately for me I will be watching the Florida/Arkansas game on CBS, which will end about 6pm CDT, giving me just enough time to grill up some steaks before Taylor/Abraham airs at 7pm CDT.

nobody is crying. We're discussing the intelligence factor of Showtime for not putting the fight on live when you would think they would be able to do so.

You see, a "LIVE" fight will have me home at that time to watch the fight while a replay of the fight I can just catch whenever during the week. Of course, that is not factoring in if I have work that day or have something else to do with friends/family. But main point is "Live" vs. "Replay" = one more favorable than the other.

I don't see why a "live feed" would cost more than a replay but maybe it does. I still think if you are a boxing fan you are going to pass up Football for boxing. And even if you are betting on the game, that's why you have more than one TV or just a TV that has split-screen (or more stations at once going on).
Yeah I agree, they could have dedicated one channel to the live showtimes and another to the replay or just replay them on the same channel later. I'd pass up football to watch the fights live as well but I was just trying to think why they would not pursue that route. Maybe HBO feels that a HW bout is less of a "mainstream" event than Showtime feels the tourney would be. Just guessing but I kind of feel that HBO puts on Klitschko fights as a side note (maybe they know it is most likely going to be a one-sided beatdown)
While Showtime feels that this is a heavily advertised event packed with pretty big names that could provide competitive fights.

I'd watch them regardless of the time they are shown but I'm sure there is some financial/marketing angle they are trying to work.

Why doesn't Showtime show both fights LIVE in the afternoon, US time? Most people I know don't mind watching sports on Saturday afternoon. It's the perfect time for me, since I usually go out on Saturday nights.

It isn't fair to the UK boxing fans when they have to stay up all night to cater to the whims of American TV. It's good that Sauerland didn't cave in to that request.

We get to wait for Abraham-Taylor, europeans get to wait for Froch-Dirrell, sounds like a fair deal to me.
