Comments Thread For: Floored Johnny Fisher survives Dave Allen with controversial win

In a battle of flawed English heavyweights, Johnny Fisher climbed off the floor to edge a controversial split decision over veteran Dave Allen. It seemed as though Allen?s veteran moves and experience, plus the fifth-round knockdown, would be enough. But that is not how boxing works and Fisher won on two cards by 95-94 with a third judge picking Allen as the winner by 96-93.

I love Fisher as a personality and I really wanted him to win this but he really didn't. 96-93 and I hope Fisher owns up to it with an immediate rematch. Allan definitely won that.

looking foward to hear from eddie since lately he is so vocal when it comes to "robberies" everytime his fighter loses a close decision. keep the same energy eddie don't switch it up, this was a real robbery not even a close fight at all

Absolute horse-crap of a decision....no way did Fischer win that. Great fight, but terrible decision-typical of boxing to make fighters leave it all in the ring and smash dreams for an obvious underdog winner.

What a slug-fest!!! And, yes, the wrong guy won.

Time to get rid of the judges and bring AI judging (so long as it is precise). Since judges have a tough time scoring from a 4 point criteria then maybe AI needs to sort out 2 of the 4 points.

No chance of a rematch. Fisher will admit it was close and say he was off his best, but the judges said he won so that's that.

Next on the list will be someone with a better looking record (on the surface) but much less durable

I think he'll be straight about that fight. Will be disappointed if he isn't

Edit: just saw him quickly interviewed. He was a bit cagey but said if you give Fisher anything in rounds 6-9 he wins, if you don't then Allen wins.

And he thinks they run it straight back
