Akeem Anifowoshe v. Robert Quiroga

I have just watched this fight that was voted Fight of the Year 2001, and checked on Boxrec straight after to see what had happenned to Akeem. I was shocked and saddenned to see that he had a blood clot on his brain that had to be removed straight after the fight.

I also saw he died in 1994 and was just wondering whether this was as a result of the clot?

i did the same right after i saw the fight and was also saddened to see that the fight ended his career and possibly his life. I thought he won clearly though it was a close fight. Somewhat of a hometown decision IMO
