Comments Thread For: Compubox punch stats: Richardson Hitchins-Liam Paro

New champ Hitchins kept it close early, then controlled remainder of the fight with his jab. Hitchinson had a 73-42 edge in punches landed in 7 thru 12. Paro never got his offense going, landing single digits in every round but the last.

Pro did well in the first four rounds. Hitchins made the adjustment in round five which is what won him the fight. Paro was unable to make an adjustment after that and seemed clueless about how to get past that jab and straight right hand. His corner did not offer any assistance either other than asking him to do better and do more.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but now I wonder, did Paro not prepare for a tall fighter with a long jab?

Paro did not know how to apply effective pressure against that long jab so deep waters never happened. He kind of gave up which is what he accused Hitchins of before the fight.

Both of them talked a lot before the fight and quite frankly Hitchins seemed lost in the first four rounds until his corner gave him a "serve". After that when he became more aggressive Paro seemed lost and unable to make an adjustment.
