I have absolutely no idea, that's what I love about it! At a guess I'd say Jermain Taylor, just because of his experience etc and the fact he towers over Arthur Abraham in a 50-50 fight lol. If JT can pull off the win tomorrow night he will put himself in a great position to go on and win it, whereas if he loses tomorrow I think he is pretty much out of the tournament. He seems that kinda fighter.
the others are on the rise while Taylor has already peaked out. He has a great skill set but I think he will crack under pressure Ward, I feel, will do the best but he still loses to Kessler.
To be honest Taylor is the best fighter in this whole tournament, but he is a 8 round fighter. Since those fights are 12 rounds I will have to go with Ward.
Hmmm which one loses to Kessler the least...hmmm. No matter what USA isnt taking this. Im American as you get but we arent taking this one.
I wouldn't necessarily agree with you there. I think the Euros deserve to be favored, but Ward and Dirrell are both X factors because you just don't know how the experience of fighting this calibre of fighters can potentially benefit them going forward.
Let's say Ward beats Kessler. He's not favored to do so, but I've seen some reasons why I think he should beat Kessler. Not the least of which is the fact that Kessler like to lean forward when he punches whereas Ward maintains his balance and stays in range to punch. Let's say Dirrell outboxes Froch. His next round matchup is with Abraham and Abraham hasn't fought a southpaw since Ian Gardner, who he struggled heavily with.
My point is that the young Americans will grow up fast. Even if they lose close decisions in their first fight or two they're going to gain experience really quickly. If they make the single elimination round, they won't be at nearly the experience disadvantage that they are now and they could begin to make some serious noise.
