Even then, at the start of his career, the way it was maneuvered to manufacture his resume, it was with mixed with aged known fighters used to catapult Alvarez like Cintron, Cotto and Mosley or fought top fighters like Trout, Lara, GGG and Jacob's. With occasional advantages like stipulations.

At the start of his 168 run was commendable with gaining titles over Smith, Saunders and Plant. Then he never seemed to recover his confidence and physical prime after Bivol beat him pillar to post.

Alvarez stopped caring to prove himself after finally clearly beating ggg

Alvarez level as a fighter is 8-4’ing a well past prime ggg

      Floyd 11-1’d Alvarez
      Bivol 9-3’d him

I have Alvarez in the shallow end of great

he gave us most of the big fights but lacks dominant performances

He isnt bringing anybody up, TC decided to move up, its like a Leonard Hagler type thing with 2 of the modern era legends, sometimes the name value and current status of the two fighters is huge business on the world stage if the fight, it probably would be one of the best selling fights since the Mayweather days.
