Comments Thread For: It's time to stop paying attention to Jake Paul's fights ... but not his promotions

There was no glow to bask in when Jake Paul's dance with the ghost of Mike Tyson concluded. So, almost immediately, we got Tyson calling out Logan Paul -- even the Paul brothers didn't seem to know what to do with that one -- and we got every boxer, active or retired, with a social media account and/or a microphone calling Jake out.

Obviously, Paul is never going to step up and test himself against a legitimate opponent. I have never put one cent in his pocket, and never will.

Like it or not, JP is the straw that stirs the drink, There is no current professional boxer, Canelo, or Garcia who can draw 70+ thousand live attendees plus 100+ million viewers. I saw people who know little to nothing about boxing talking about watching the fight.

JP need look no further for cred than boxers like this writer named calling him out. Boxers have two choices today to cash in, JP MVP Promotions, or HE Turki. When you see professional boxers saying…Mr. Paul, can you fight me, is all you need to know.
It was Spider-Man or something ****** like that where the quote "With great power comes great responsibility", But it would be hard to Find many other areas where that is more true than this. That Joker has shown that he has the desire To improve the lives of fighters. He has shown that he has fantastic business acumen. He has shown that he has out of this world promotional capabilities. What if he became convicted to change boxing?
      THAT WOULD BE RAD!!!

Tyson was the draw, paul was a mere prescense. Billiant move on Pual's part to get Tyson to participate, but make no mistake, Tyson was the reason people tuned in.

Tyson is a massive name without a doubt but to discredit or diminish Paul’s presence is to ignore facts - if Tyson was “the draw”, how come his fight with the ATG Roy Jones didn’t fall on Netflix? Tyson made $10 million bs Roy but made twice that with Paul.

If Tyson was the draw, why are all the big name guys now calling for a fight with Paul? Dubois, Andre Ward etc are clamoring for a payday.

Again, I not dismissing Tyson’s presence. I’m saying do not finish Paul’s presence and influence.

Jake Paul vs Andrew Tate if he doesn't land the canelo fight next then still target canelo if no then fight Muhammad Ali grandson, if win then Conor McGregor. Andrew Tate a 50-75m fight canelo 100m McGregor 100m rack up 300+m in 4 fights 2 losses. Canelo would kill him n I think McGregor wins an unorthodox style match as well. Andrew Tate has a very very padded kickboxing record never in the serious majors k1 glory. Paul beats him but both are HUGE social media Netflix will do 50-60m again a lot of people also want to see either 1 especially Andrew Tate get kod

This right here. Add JP's large casual fan base and the 65m Netflix subscribers worldwide that had it pretty much for free.

Put that same sht on PPV system ,succes wouldn't had been the same at all. Not even close.

"To whom much is given, much will be required" comes from the Gospel of Luke (12:48) in the New Testament Bible.

French author Voltaire was the first to have it in the power/responsibility format but it's from scripture.

Uncle Ben had it third fr, good old Hollywood.

Jake Paul is a talented promoter and he undoubtedly has a future in the sport in that capacity.

Post-Tyson though, the circus fight possibilities have maybe peaked IMHO. Tyson is the biggest name imaginable for these type fights.

Regardless of how terrible an idea it was and how bad it (of course) ended up being. Nothing Jake does next will match it from a promotional standpoint, nobody else has the aura and name brand of Mike Tyson out there.

So I think he has at least a couple workmen fights next, maybe Tommy Fury again? The question is- how serious is Paul about being a competitor and does he want to stay active enough to try to cherry pick his own title shot at Cruiser eventually?

Last thought I have is that it's pretty embarrassing seeing all these legit champs calling him out now. Just fully not understanding the game this dude is playing IMHO.
