  • Anybody going to Paro/Hitchens?

It’s a perplexing proposition to put an Australian champion making his first title defense against an American…in Puerto Rico of all places where neither really has much of a fan base but okay, let’s roll with it.

I was looking at tickets and was thinking of going with a couple of family members but am wondering if it’s worth it. Considering neither have a super fan friendly style, the tickets are as follow:

Red Carpet seats range from $350-$650 a pop.

The Ringside seats elevated $167 a pop and then you have general unassigned seats at $40.

    What do ya’ll think?

Does the headliner and event seem overpriced or is it worth dropping cash on this because they’re undefeated (though I don’t subscribe to that theory)?

    Well to take into account:

-You don't have to pay 400$ bucks for a air plane ticket to get to San Juan, Puerto Rico and don't have to delay personal matters for too long if you live near there. But the seatings seem kind pricey than it should be, but helluva cheaper than paying 7,300$ seatinf for a card like Canelo vs Berlanga. If it's a small group of 3-4 people, perhaps pooling 147$ per person to get quality viewing at a elevated ringside shouldn't be too much money wasted if the group are all boxing fans. Unassigned seats should be good too.

-This is a mayor event at light welterweight with undefeated contenders, but not necessarily a guaranteed entertaining bout, it could be an action packed fight like Hitchins vs Lemos and Paro vs Matias. But there is good odds that it be snooze fest. Paro is a counter puncher and Hitchins is a pure boxer, which although Hitchins can be agressive, he seems to lack in punching power.

-The undercard should also play a factor for the entertainment value, which honestly it is not bad:

Two undefeated prospects facing each other in William Ortiz (6-0) vs Lionell Colon (6-0).

Juan Zayas (9-0) vs Marcelino Nieves (19-0).

Underwhelming Marc Castro (13-0) vs hard hitting Argentinian Agustin Quintana (20-2-1).

well decorated amateur prospect Jalil Hackett (9-0) vs rugged Jose Roman (13-1) who could pull a upset.

Ranked Super Featherweight Henry LeBron (19-0) vs former featherweight champion Christopher Diaz (29-4).

I appreciate the input. I live in PR so I don’t have to spend anything on lodging or plane tickets.

I’m hesitant because I spent over a grand on red carpet seats (3 of us went) for Matias/Paro. The main event wasn’t enormously entertaining but it was an ok undercard.

I’ve only seen Paro a few times before. It’s just that the ingredients for **** for your buck don’t seem all there for the prices. I could go ringside, but I really want red carpet so I can get some pics or with Mora and Mannix. Lol
