HBO could make a Featherweight tournament for a reasonable price...

None of those guys are gonna be demanding multi million dollar pay days. The most any one guy would make for a fight would be what.....750K?

And they certainly have the depth in the division.

    If you're gonna do six:

    John
    Gamboa
    Lopez
    Luevano
    Rojas
    Caballero

If you wanted to do 8 you can add Santiago and Cruz(I really dont wanna see Juarez anymore)

I deliberetley didn't include Marquez and Vazquez cause they are Showtime fighters.

HBO can do that, and they can do it at a reasonable price, I don't see why that would be so unfeasible.

Vazquez is well on his way to becoming an HBO fighter for however much longer his career lasts.

And I can see the price tag growing steeper with each suggested fight, to be honest.

Not that I disagree, though - boxing needs something along the lines of a playoff system in EVERY weight class.

Yea, I agree. And interesting to hear about Vazquez, I didn't know that. I just figured that with Featherweights, the lower weight classes obviously don't demand as much money so it'd be much more do-able.

Blessing in disguise Mak. Showtime is ESSENTIAL. For boxing, and for Weeds, Dexter, and Californication.

Juarez is a GREAT gate keeper (No offense). I want to see Elio Rojas vs. Juarez, see how legit he is.

In a weaker division I'd agree. But I think there is enough talent in this division, that putting Rocky in ahead of any of these younger guys isn't warranted. He's had enough chances.

                  Already did, yesterday

Showtime is spending 40-50 million in this tourney, HBO could do it for half maybe even a 3rd of that. And the action in that 126 pound tourney would be better than the 168 and they would have a lot of money left over to make other big fights and put them on regular HBO.

Indeed sir. That was my exact thought process when making this thread.
