Well the problem is that he hasn't beaten anyone in the top 10 in any weight division. He has nothing to offer to anyone at 154 other than trouble. Nobody is avoiding Inoue, Usyk or Crawford even though they are extremely good - top 3 p4p. Everybody wants to fight them to make big money and be famous. Boots is not offering that - no money, no belts, no fan base, no name recognition, no legacy - nothing. Of course nobody wants to play with him in the schoolyard.

If Ennis moves up, all of a sudden, everyone will say it's getting harder to make weight. Then they'll all move up to 160, then 154 will be as empty as 147. OR, no one at 154 will fight him. They'll be calling everyone else out, except him. Ennis is that kid in the schoolyard that nobody ever wanted to play with

You must really be an idiot. Ennis got 33 fights on his record, almost the same number Stanionis and Ortiz got combined. Yet you people keep perpetuating this "no one wants to fight him" narrative. 33 fighters played with him. His first step up fight was with a guy named Lipinets. His 28th fight. It shows he's been the one avoiding high-level fights.Comment

More importantly, they honestly believe they can beat the current crop of American fighters and after fighting Crawford and Ortiz I don't believe either Madrimov or Bohachuk will run from some unproven welterweight. Kathy Duva made it clear that she is willing to take Murtazailiev to wherever she can get the best fights and that includes Riyadh. The last piece of the puzzle is the the money and (IMO) Turki can make those numbers work.Last edited by factsarenice; 11-03-2024, 12:39 PM.Comment

I disagree.....The Eastern Europeans at 154lbs have no real name recognition or demand life changing money to take a risk like so many American fighters.
