Haye (3rd best Cruiser ever) ducked Fury & ruined every last little thing on these shores by doing so. Due to his personality & beliefs, the British press literally hated & hated on Fury until Wilder I, including straight after the Wlad win which went criminally under-acknowledged here (look it up).

Mediocre talent AJ (biggest overachiever in recent times) brought back public enthusiasm in a big way, don't forget that the last Super-Heavyweight champ we had was Audley damn Harrison so to have a guy knocking people out as spectacularly as babypro AJ was quite the morale boost.

Ben Davison rebuilt Tyson Fury after THE WHOLE WORLD wrote him off. Also he's still a super young trainer, imho when him & Shane McGuigan are retired their careers are both gonna look good.

The British media hated on Fury when he started making séxist and more importantly antisemitic statements (ironically his PEDs from the Hammer fight suddenly reared their head mere weeks after the aforementioned antisemitic statements even though he popped 16 months prior)

As for either Haye or Fury being hated it irrelevant particularly in the case of Haye he was selling the most PPVs of anyone at the time even to this day the only fight of AJs that actually outperformed Haye vs Bellew by a large margin (100k+) is the Parker fight...

David Price was actually believed to be the heir apparent to Wlad until he came against Thompson and was arguably more destructive than AJ.

He didn't rebuild Fury, he cheerleader-ed whilst he lost some timber.

And his lack of perception DURING a fight not only cost Fury the first fight with Wilder but got AJ ko'd by Dubois as evidenced by the famous clip of McGuigan pointing out how he'll get clipped based on the bad advice Ben and his team are giving AJ.

As for McGuigan can actually see improvements in some case marked improvements in McGuigan fighters.

It could be argued under Ben no fighter has improved in fact you could say the opposite and they've regressed.

Though I will concede it's possible Leigh Wood improved under Ben but he was never any good to begin with so, polishing a turd doesn't do much.
