Comments Thread For: Malik Scott: Gilberto Ramirez-Chris Billiam-Smith is a mismatch

Malik Scott, part of Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez's team, regards Ramirez as the top cruiserweight in the world. Scott, a former heavyweight title contender best known for training (and fighting) Deontay Wilder, will be in Saudi Arabia to assist Ramirez's lead trainer, Julian Chua, when Ramirez faces Chris "The Gentleman" Billam-Smith on November 16 in a cruiserweight unification fight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

wow that guy most be the most delusional trainer ever. I would vote for Malik Scott the worst trainer of this decade. Hes making every fighter he works with visibly worse not only wilder but all of them and even worse is what he tells fighters in between rounds. This guy is clueless wilder should never have made him his main trainer but it seems like scott is a good con artist. he made wilder believe if he boxes like he (malik) used to box he will be more effective haha. i can really see malik scott putting wilder on ayahuasca and whispering in his ear during the trip. but i agree with him shane is a good trainler, mark breland was excelent for wilder and so would breadmen.

Malik Scott must be joking. Chris is a live dog and very much capable of winning the fight

It’s what I’ve been saying, Scott ruined Wilder’s career. Wilder is on a serious losing streak, but then again, wilder is to blame for not firing Scott.

Wilder: "Aight what you want me to do, knock him out?"

Scott: "No, champ. Move around, use your legs, tire yourself out, but don't throw any punches. Just keep moving, feinting, measuring, but no punches! That's the sweet science."

My only interest in this bout is to see who wins and for the Sheik to dangle some big money in front of to make the unification fight with Opetaia. Jai would handily beat both Zurdo and CBS on the same night.

How Malik could get it so wrong in his one area of expertise is a mystery.

Got to disagree entirely with Malik on this one, CBS aint gonna be a walk in the park for Zurdo, the mexican might be a bit more experienced but thats about it. 50-50 fight.

Gilberto is slow and unimpressive inside the ropes, he never impressed me and he will not do so in this fight.
