I remember watching this man fight and i remember wishing he would be the reason more Brazilians threw in their lot with boxing. He suffered some real damage off fighting the best of his era and losing by knockout. Hopefully research papers are written by people with phd’s and md’s after their names due to his donation of organs to science. Rest in power champ

I remember buying an SI issue with his ko loss to either Holyfield or Foreman being a full color shoot with a story of either boxer moving up the rankings. At the time I had a buddy make a joke of him getting violently ko'd.

This is the end result of fighting until you are around 40 and receiving tens of thousands of blows to the head from huge men. God bless Adilson!

Just as you'll surely get a form of lung cancer if you inhale asbestos, fighting both Holyfield AND foreman, means you'll most likely end up with CTE. Fighting those two is a death sentence

if Haney wins his lawsuit against Garcia, Maguila's family should sue Holyfield, Evan Fields was juiced to the gills!

You know nothing about steroids if you’re serious with your remark.

How are you so sure Evander wasn’t juicing? He started at 175, moved up to cruiser, then became a legend at heavyweight. Holyfield trained with eight-time Mr. Olympia Lee Haney. Maybe he was clean, maybe he wasn’t; but no one can say with certainty that Holyfield wasn’t on PEDs. It was that era. If I had to bet my life on it, I’d lean towards Evander being juiced.
