  • Comments Thread For: How expectations of Artur Beterbiev-Dmitry Bivol muddied the perception of the action

I was largely disappointed in Artur Beterbiev's performance against Dmitry Bivol on October 12. After the second round, in which Beterbiev looked reluctant to let anything go but his jab, I texted a friend: "I think this is going the distance, Beterbiev has barely thrown a power punch."

Correct in the assessment that beterbiev should have been favoured to win I’ve said this in other threads it was a good betting trap lol

Bivol won that fight, he even hurt Beterbiev, who has been knocked down before, don't forget.

It was close though, not arguing on that.

I like many thought Bivol would win hell I wanted him too but Beterbiev was the clear winner he put Bivol on his bike and fought better just how it went down hopefully they rematch but it will probably go the same way and then all the same fools will cry robbery and blah blah blah Beterbiev won.

Beterbiev was a clear winner 7-5 & there shouldn’t be any confusion over this or references to a narrative muddying the waters.

Beterbiev is smarter than his casual fans that predicted him to KO Bivol in the middle rounds.

He understood how good Bivol was. So Artur`s aggression was well controlled, he put on his opponent a constant but controlled pressure. Bivol gassed out in the last 3 rounds but Beterbiev still didn`t go for a KO, because he could have got countered.

Well done, I am impressed with Beterbiev`s ring IQ, skills and endurance.

Reminded me in a way of De la hoya vs Ike Quartey, it never quite produced.

I comend the author, I think a lot more people had a similar predicament, but not all will be able to acknowledge it.

Stopped reading at Bivols finest performance of his career. Still wasn't good enough to beat Beterbiev. Another fan bitter about the result.
