I knew whittaker would get shown up when he stepped up. I was wrong. He was shown up BEFORE he stepped up.

I had Beterbiev winning - he turned the corner in the 6th round. Bivol tried to turn the fight in his favour in the 7th and Artur was having none of it and hurt Bivol. If it had been a 15 round fight Beterbiev gets the stoppage round 14-15

Bread brought up a good point that I noticed during the Bivol vs Beterbiev fight: the replays all favored Bivol, even in rounds I thought Beterbiev did better work.

It's fun to have the announcers whipping up excitement in real-time as we watch fights, but it's also a good exercise for one's boxing acumen to mute the sound and learn to trust your eyes - what you actually see without the subtle persuasion of announcers who may not be without bias as they yammer into the mics.
We are all human beings and susceptible to having our better judgment swayed by others.
Reduce the information clutter and watch the next fight without sound.
Maybe in the future the streams will have ambient sound and the announcers on discrete channels that we can turn on and off as we see fit.
Although, to be honest, live crowd responding to a hometown favorite's missed punches are also something to be mindful of.

my man “John” trying to sound profound as always. Just talk the way you normally talk bro. It’s like you’re writing an essay for a class and you have a minimum word count . Did you just learn the word “justifiable” and now you’re trying to use it as many times as possible. Just stick to the go-to phrases such as “at the end of the day” and “it is what it is” like many others of your demographic group.

Round by round I still had it for Bivol. If you had it a draw, or even Beterbiev, I could see that possibility.

But looking at Beterbiev himself, and his team, they don't think they won.

I scored it 115-114 Bivol, although I felt at the time that at least one of the rounds I gave to Dimitry demanded a rewatch, which I have yet to do. However, my immediate thought at the final bell was that Beterbiev conclusively wins a 15 round fight, probably by stoppage as you suggest. Anyone who considers that an irrelevant point should consider that any comparisons between modern greats and virtually all the greats prior to around ‘82 demand speculation as to how the modern fighters would perform over that traditional championship distance. And Beterbiev-Bivol was one fight where plenty of people were justifiably comparing it to the all time great 175lb matchups. I think Artur would be an absolute monster over those historic championship rounds that really propelled guys like Alexis Arguello from very good fighters to legends of the ring.
