You know, I don’t usually disagree with you and I’m sensing you don’t care for Benavidez which is alright.
Tyson coined that moniker. Perhaps it’s because the “top” guy at 168 has been ducking him for a while now, I don’t know.

I’ve always rooted for Canelo except when he fought Floyd and his last few fights where he is fighting guys that have no place in the ring with him.

Canelo elected to fight Charlo who is a 154 guy. He fought Munguia. Berlanga and Ryder. None of those guys ranked higher than Benny.

Benavidez, though 27, has never had a legacy fight. He is not 'going-up' in weight, he would be fighting at his 'natural' weight. In his previous outing he was less than spectacular. He's a lot of hype. Certainly he was anything but a 'monster' fighting at what is close to his natural weight. As for the 'fight everyone wants' - that is a small contingency that has or was being pushed by Benavidez and his somewhat 'loco' father - and as it is Canelo, a money fight. Am not a soothsayer, but Canelo seemed to find the salespitch and continual malarkey by the Benavidez camp as annoying - and there is no upside for Canelo in fighting Benavidez. Benavidez has done nothing to establish he is a great fighter, excepting cheers from the peanut gallery. This fight will at least be an indicator of his talent. Maybe.
