It’s actually not surprising that BoxRec is handling WBA and IBA events this inconsistently. They’ve had a long-standing dispute with both organizations, and whenever politics game involved, record-keeping becomes selective.
The reason they’re listing only the WBA title fights is that those bouts still carry global recognition, and leaving them out would create gaps in fighter histories, something BoxRec tries to avoid even when they disagree with a sanctioning body. But since the rest of the event is tied to the IBA, they’re basically refusing to acknowledge it unless necessary. That’s why you get this weird half-in, half-out situation.
If FightFax really tries to position itself as an alternative again, we might end up with two record systems.
