Actually, as Bivol said, many of Beterbiev's punches landed on his left glove. He hits hard, so Bivol's left glove hit against his face, hence the bruise.

Those are, however, not points scoring punches, not supposed to be, according to the rules of scoring.

Yes, punches that hit guard are not point scoring, they are to stop you being koed by blocking.
So you could get favouritism for defence, and penalised for not effective aggression I guess? I mean if opponent is blocking your punches, your aggression isn't effective. Who knows?

What we learned was not that who was better. But rather both were not overated. That they gave each other more problems than Anyone before did.

Effective is a range. The most effective aggression leads to a stoppage. Short of a stoppage we are then on a sliding scale of damage. 5 punches can cause more damage than 15 punches.

I didn't learn anything new. Like how most people are idiots and don't understand how boxing is scored. Or how Bivol was up going into the 10th on 2 judges cards and got out landed and out worked 3 rounds in a row which cost him the fight. No I already knew these things. What a robbery!
