After the Anaguchi match I was really hoping for Tsutsumi to get a belt so congratz to him. Now someone please quickly find a viable opponent for Nakatani to fight next year that would lead to the Naoya fight.

It certainly was a fun fight, which isn't something you hear people say of Takuma's fights haha.

In fact I personally enjoyed all the matches on Day 1, bottomline Japanese boxers won the matches :P
Iwata's double drop followed by a good action match between Akui-Charunpak (horrendous one card aside, correct man won), Teraji boxing clinic that ended rather anti-climatically but he was winning easily even if it didn't get stopped, and the all out duking by Tsutsumi and Takuma.

Hopefully day 2 provides good entertainment too. It is a Monday holiday in Japan (which is why they are having it on Sunday-Monday and not Saturday-Sunday).

Granted tho I think the most unpredictable/close fight tomorrow is the only non-Japanese involving fight on the card, Olascuaga-Gonzalez. Tanaka will probably get a relatively drama-less UD win, Nakatani I'm hoping for another quick KO, and not a world title but Tenshin Nasukawa will also get an overmatched easy UD win or maybe even a fast KO.

I think the fact that most Japanese fans/promoters care significantly less about the overrated holy zero religion and is willing to throw promising youngsters against eachother, and will happily jump into the fire against veteran beltholders for a chance at a world title leads to more closer exciting fights in many cases. When you look around the current 10 Japanese world title holders and contenders, more than half of them have losses in their record which they got quite early in their career where they fought some good guys, a caliber you won't see western "prospects" fight with only single digit experience. Just looking at the current beltholders, 108 Yabuki and 112 Teraji both have losses against eachother but are currently back at the top. 112 Akui has a loss against 118 Nakatani from a few years back, but still managed to get a belt eventually. 115 Tanaka fought Ioka as a 25 years old to challenge for his 4th division and lost, but came back up.

yeah man I have noticed that about those fighters over there. I'm a late bloomer on all those fighters and have really just went all in on them since espn+ carries alot of them. thankfully they do. and I wish they'd rub off on these fighters/managers over here

This fight was fire. I had a feeling that Tsutzumi was going to win , I thought that he might stop Inoue too. Tsutzumi is fun to watch , so is Inoue. I enjoyed the whole card. Can't wait to watch tonights card in the morning.
