  • Comments Thread For: Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol: Big-fight preview

When attempting to predict the outcome of the Artur Beterbiev-Dmitry Bivol showdown, which takes place on Saturday night in Saudi Arabia, two things quickly become clear: I am beyond excited and I don't know - just like nobody possibly can at this stage - who's going to win.

I have been rewatching their fights all morning. This one is wicked hard to call. Aside from resume, age, and the host of other factors, I think it boils down to a few things.
Why Bivol will win - defense and accuracy. Pascal fought him a lot like Beterbiev will and landed so little of importance.
Why Beterbiev will win - he needs one clubbing shot to put him on the track to end the fight. That is it.
I am either going to LOVE the fight or HATE IT!! I wish I didn't want Beterbiev to win so badly because it will cloud my judgement and have every cell in my body wired.

Easy to say that Betebiev wins. He is stronger and is relentless.

But. He can get caught. We saw this in the Johnson fight and Johnson is no Bivol.

Bivol is a hugely talented boxer, we saw this with Canelo.

It's the most difficult match to predict in many years.

Fury was exploited several times before usyk did so the outcome was a possibility.

In this case both are great, Beterbiev is incredibly strong and very talented, Bivol is not weak either and even more talented.

DAZN coverage has started. The Saudi boy making his pro debut against the Colombian. Fully expect him to make a winning start, and wouldn't be surprised if the visiting fighter has been paid off to lose. Saudis don't leave these things to chance. They want a great advert and some inspiration for their local sports scene.

Liam Cameron vs Ben Whittaker coming up. A big step-up in opponent for Ben. We might learn a lot about Whittaker here. Is he at British/Euro level? Or is he just dining out on social media hype?

The way Liam Cameron is easily landing power shots to Ben Whittaker's face, it's clear this social media darling has ridden the hypetrain to this big stage. Whittaker claims he could beat Beterbiev. Can you imagine how long he'd last against the monster of the division landing at the same rate?
