For the most part, the fight is the same regardless of where it happens.
I don't recall him getting any homecooked meals.

May wasn't a fan of leaving Nv, either and I highly doubt his skills were based on that desert weather.
It's usually comes down to a financial choice. You have to pay taxes wherever you make money.
Also, why should the boss of a div have to travel ?
Being the boss has it's perks.

If a person wants that crown bad enough, GO take it

No one even talks about him anymore so I don't see how he can be overrated. He's got some good names on his resume, and most of his fights were one-sided.

Joe was a good guy who had a tough upbringing. He's up there with the best ever unbeaten guys.
On paper he has wins over bh and rjj, although they'll go down in history as greater most likely. Just like Pac goes down in history greater than ugas, horn, floyd and singsurrat and torrecampo

Why should of Joe Calzaghe travelled outside of the UK 'During his World Championship reigns, America was not quite the power house of big time boxing. Like it was back in other decades, America on a global scale was starting to encounter real competition'.

The fact of the matter is? Eventually Joe Calzaghe did leave the UK 'And challenge both Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Junior. Now? I respect and rate both Hopkins and Jones Junior higher than Joe Calzaghe. But they were still not the fighters who left the United States of America to defend and fight for World titles against Calzaghe. Joe Calzaghe was in the latter part of his career'.

When it comes to the Super Middle Weight Division, Joe Calzaghe as a Champion is the King. Neither Roy Jones Junior or Bernard Hopkins, competed or were dominant in those boxing division's long enough to give themselves the title of King. Therefore the onus was on them to pursue Joe Calzaghe, and challenge him on the doorstep of his castle in the UK'.

Joe Calzaghe's resume is underrated, mainly because the top level fighters he did beat 'In the main scenes of his career. Were all European fighters, such as Mikkel Kessler'.

Chris Eubank Senior, even the version of Eubank Senior would of beaten all active Super Middle Weights in today's modern era 'The only real competitive fight for Chris Eubank Senior would be Canelo Alvarez. But I would honestly back Chris Eubank Senior to beat Canelo Alvarez'.

The talent and ability of Super Middle Weight fighters, during Joe Calzaghe's reign was clearly superior than today's era 'You can analyse numerous top level fighters from the late 90's and 2000's, and match them vs Super Middle Weight fighters from today's era. Most honest people would back the Super Middle Weight fighters from the late 90's and 2000's 90% of the time vs fighters such as Caleb Plant and Billy Joe Saunders'.

The way I see it, is that Joe Calzaghe whenever he encountered a challenge inside the ring 'He overcame it, and did everything that was asked of him as a Champion'.

Note: Statistically I also believe that his resume is underrated 'Joe Calzaghe fought and beaten 10 World Champions. Chris Eubank Junior, Robin Reid, Richie Woodhall, Charles Brewer, Bryon Mitchell, Jeff Lacy, Sakio Bika, Mikkel Kessler, Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones Junior'.

The timing unfortunately of Joe Calzaghe's fights vs Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Junior was not great. And I always believe that Bernard Hopkins made a slight tactical mistake in his preparation. Hopkins conditioning for a distance fight, seemed to be of a higher level for his fight after Joe Calzaghe against Kelly Pavlik. This was most likely a reaction to the loss'.

Bernard Hopkins skill for skill, clearly was on the level of Calzaghe or above 'Even at that stage of his career. But maybe he underestimated the intensity and endurance of Joe Calzaghe. When we rate all-time great fighters in terms of endurance, then Joe Calzaghe is right up there as one of the best fighters with this attribute'.

I would of liked to of seen a rematch between Bernard Hopkins and Joe Calzaghe 'And Hopkins in my opinion, would or tactically prepared more specifically for a distance fight'.

You still would have to say that Joe Calzaghe won that fight, with his work rate and 'The fact that he hit Bernard Hopkins body parts numerous times. It does not really matter where the punches are landing, Calzaghe was hitting the landmass of Bernard Hopkins with his offense. In a professional boxing match, that type of offense and work rate is what can win you rounds. That level of agression'.

To conclude: Overall, Joe Calzaghe was never really involved in big block buster fights 'And although he beat every single fighter he fought. Many would say, that he should of rematch certain fighters during his career. People in the sport of boxing, enjoy watching a good story unfold. Joe Calzaghe career was a great story from his rise, but there have been more captivating boxing stories inside the ring. And maybe this is why certain folk, may believe he is underrated'.

I personally don't think overall that Joe Calzaghe is underrated 'Most serious boxing analyst and historians, know that Joe Calzaghe is a all-time great fighter. Calzaghe was a Old school fighter both in terms of his conduct, training and attitude to fighting when the going got tough'.

Joe Calzaghe is definitively one of the greatest Super Middle Weight Champion's of all-time, if not the Greatest Champion. He has the longest reign as a Champion, in the Division. And he had won all the major World Titles at Super Middle Weight during his Championship reign. Ring Magazine Lineal title, WBO, WBC, WBA, IBF' etc.
