Let's forget Gatti was already meat beaten to a pulp in many prior wars and that Oscar already brutalized him years prior. Nobody actually remembers it except probably Floyd fans because it's fun to remember a black guy beating up a popular white guy. That's probably the only real reason it's brought up by Floyd fans.

As a Gatti fan of the past, I don't care about it. I'm still watching Gatti fights vs Ward over Gatti Floyd for pure enjoyment of a limited fighter facing another limited fighter.

If you enjoy an over the hill limited fighter getting beat up by a guy he was supposed to lose to and that puts a smile on your face, I'm not sure what else to tell you.

Not even close…Diego still wanted to fight and pushed his coach/Dad…he was not in bad shape like Gatti nor did he quit on his stool…can’t compare the two…Diego’s heart was way bigger…

At the time of stoppage, Floyd was ahead on the cards: 90-79, 90-78, 89-79.BTW this was supposed to be his toughest fight up to that point in his career.

Furthermore…it was Floyd’s fight against Philip Ndou that mirrored his performance against Diego rather than Gatti…I should know those are my 2 fave fights from Floyd…
