Dude, there's no shame in saying I didn't pay for Fury-Usyk or any other worthy card.
My priorities dictate that my cash puts food on the table for my family. All the rest is gravy.
Like I said in a previous post, there's old-school ways of knowing what's happening in real time with a YouTube live comment show or following round by round updates.
Clunky - yeah, but kind of fun, too. And then the bouts are usually shown a day or two later on DAZN and similar anyway.

Just years ago uncle Al paying his fighters $1 million was a huge deal. How in Neptune purses became so significantly huge in this day and age of fans streaming fights for free? Size of the fights are not even that any bigger compared to fights in the past where boxing is still relatively popular? Maidana vs Broner is hands-down bigger, yet did Broner made at least $5 million?

How the *** PBC able to pay Davis $25 million fighting an unknown Martin? $25 million for such a small fight.

Inflation really does factor into the decreased amount of PPV buys as well. I remember in the 90s I paid probably 50 for the Sweet pea vs JCC / de la hoya PPV. My apartment rent was 350 dollars a month. I could get 2 full shopping carts at the grocery store for 100 dollars (almost). I think i drove a new 4-door Nissan Pathfinder at that time and my car note was under 100 dollars per month. I .ade decent money then probably 65-75k a year. And not to mention that boxing was very popular back then because the best always fought the best so there was no push back against PPV. Now the cost of living is so damn high that for a lot of people paying for PPV fights is the last thing on their mind. I get that!!!

The only real solution to outrageous PPV pricing for mediocre events is simply not buying them.
Supply & Demand 101. Not likely to happen, of course. Reaching consensus among a couple of million potential viewers is impossible.
But that's different than what a perceived value is. Hence all the promotional BS, byzantine machinations, and apparent ducking.
I suppose if I was wealthy enough that I could wipe my @$$ with hundred dollar bills I'd likely pay for WHATEVER I wanted to watch.
I feel much more deprived by not having the fights happen that SHOULD happen, whether or not I will see them on PPV, than I am of not having the budget to pay for them should they occur at all.
It's actually kind of old-school fun to watch a YouTube live-stream commentary or refresh a round-by-round update page. I'm good with that.

Even tho I am always gung-ho about buying PPV fights in do realize I'm a dinosaur. The PPV model for boxing g is still operating in an 80s and 90s mindset while the purchasing power of the average American has been totally diluted!

I know I've said this 10k times on this site and people are tired of it but it's only one way to fix it. PBC TR and GBP has to end up together on Amazon Prime. Everybody fights everybody all the time. There should be no less than 2-3 weekends a month of A level to C level fights. Only the SUPER of the SUPER fights need to be on PPV. If that happens in 2025 then the only fights that qualify as Canelo vs Benevidez and Tank vs Shakur/ Loma and maybe Ryan vs Devin ll or Bud vs Boots. All other fights should be free *with a Prime sub. That's the only way it's going to work my friends!

Algieri trying to sell the possibility of an upset and Pauli trying to justify this is ridiculous. I wish a public figure would just come out and call it a sht fight because it is a sht fight. Roach is clearly not the best available opponent by a stretch. Davis is fighting Roach and Zepeda is fighting Farmer.....this is not acceptable, period.

G.Davis has always been a manufactured fighter, nothing but the goal of making PPV money on less then fair and interesting match ups...... but hey this is boxing this it what they have been serving up with G.Davis and a whole lotta favorite fighters for many years now....................Boxing will go lower before they fade away.... not just fighters but boxing.

Zepeda and Davis should be fighting each other, instead of them fighting Roach, and Farmer.
Farmers should stay on there farm, and roaches should get squashed if they're spotted in your home.
All jokes aside Davis is going to decimate Roach, and Farmer is going to get beat on for as long as the fight has been scheduled for.
The premise that Davis has fought a bunch of nobodies is completely false, he's beaten 8 undefeated fighters, and 7 former champions.
Has he always fought the best available fighters in his division? No he has not! That doesn't mean that he's not one of the best champions in boxing.
I remember when he first won the championship, there was talk about him facing off against Lomachenko in a unification bout.
His promoter at the time Mayweather prevented that fight from taking place, knowing what would've probably happened.
Ever since then fans have been skeptical about who Davis has been fighting, and what his promotional teams motives were.
The fans myself included wanted to see him fight Lomachenko back then in 2017, not so much now, but even he would've been a better choice.
From what I've read Lomachenko turned down that fight, and stating he won't fight again until 2025, that can't be held against Davis.
Davis is a bit of a criminal, and if he doesn't straiten up his act, he will find himself where all criminals finally wind up.
That aside Davis is a one punch knockout artist, which is very rare these days, he can box, has good stamina, and can take a good punch.
That said he is a damn good champion, with highlight reel knockouts, he's just plain devastating in the ring,
His detractors don't have to face him in the ring so they don't have to worry about his prowess in or out of the ring,
