I wonder how many people on this forum actually buy fight - pay for tickets or ppvs.
My budget is limited, so I put it towards a couple of streaming services, opting for frequency of decent-ish mid to higher level cards over one-off PPV events.
It is what it is, no regrets.
Gervonta "Tank" Davis pushed for Vasiliy Lomachenko and engaged with Shakur Stevenson and when those plans went astray, he is now finalizing a deal with super-featherweight champion Lamont Roach.

I dont know why anyone is surprised. Hes a “B” boxer. If he ever would of fought Loma 5 years ago. He would of lost. He would of also lost to Teo, Haney, Shakur, Ortiz & Keyshawn at 135.. Thats why he never fought them. Cant wait till he retires. corporate boxing is ruining the sport.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. If your budgets dictates you buy something more important than a Tank PPV then you by all means should do it. I just have a problem with all these losers who fake like they have 100 million dollars in disposable income but refuse to purchase a Tank PPV because of some high moral standard. Fuqing losers!
Which is why you don't take any figure coming out in this sport nowadays, PPV numbers, purses, estimated earnings, etc. seriously. They are massively exaggerated. If you've been following boxing at least starting from when PBC started, you know exactly the realistic figures are. Danny Garcia's purse, for example, in the Rod Salka fight was $700K, which was seen as already huge at that time. Leo Santa Cruz made $750K vs a former sparring partner. Again it's seen as huge. And these figures were not hard to find at that time. $1 million is a huge deal even to this day. How in the world it went from $1 million to $10 to $25 million? What changed? Certainly not the size of the fights, not the PPV numbers, not the crowd size, not the investors, etc. What changed is bogus writers, like you said, youtube channels that lie about anything and get away with it.
Very true. These people keep insulting people's intelligence. Even when HBO, Fox, Showtime already exited boxing.
These fake reporters are still making it look like money still grow on trees.
I am not a ****** rich millionaire but boxing PPV have been baked into my budget since the 90s. I remember my uncle bought a house in the 80s in Ft Washington, MD right outside of DC (very rich knee-grow neighborhood) and one of the first things purchased was one of those big ass C-band satellite dishes. He would host all the big fights that were only on CCTV that you had to go to the theater back then to watch. I was young and used to love it when my pops took me over there for the fight party to watch our boy - Palmer Park, Mds own - Sugar Ray Leonard fight. As soon as I was old enough to move out of pops house when I was 18 I got my first apartment and you better believe I have been the fight party guy ever since. So paying for an 80 dollar PPV fight 4 or 5 times a year is part of my budget. That's not even 500 dollars so that's nothing for a very high middle class guy like me to handle. #MIDDLECLASSMILLIONAIRES

You, me and 90% of people of this forum probably do the same thing, they just don't want to say it in public.

I hate to tell you something but money DOES still grow in trees. The problem is it's getting harder and harder for many people to access that tree!
Little effort? Are you serious? When is the last time you did an 8 week training camp?
$10M for an 8 week training camp? I would call that little effort. Most people do not earn that in their entire life. There is not a single person on this forum who would not do it.
Man 30 years ago the top 1% of income earners in America probably owned 40% of the wealth. Now the top 1% probably hoarde about 95% of the wealth in this country!
