In his head, he really thought this would sound even half believable? So ridiculous. Fighting on showtime, articles in newspapers, on the internet, contract negotiation, and promotion. He really is not to bright or extremely punch drunk to put this out there in an interview.

I won’t lie, I thought it would have been somewhat dangerous for Floyd at the time. That was one of the wildest things I had seen live up til that point in my boxing fandom. Great times.

Must be a slow news day in boxing if there's an article about Victor Ortiz

Ortiz was coming off a FOTY action packed duel with Berto so most really believed he was going to give Floyd a fight.
He was doing well until the outrageous headbutt. It was beautiful to see the comeuppance from Floyd.

Marcos Maidana showed what type of fighter Ortiz was early in his career. Anybody betting on Ortiz after he said in the post fight interview "I don't know if I want to do this for a living" was crazy.

Horse**** story. Has ortiz taken so many punches that he thinks this nonsense sounds believable?? What an idiot.

Yeah, if losing all three rounds by a landslide is considered doing well

I do not disagree at all. Ortiz lost all three rounds. Perhaps I should have contextualized my point - Ortiz was aggressive from the get go. There was no sizing up or measuring Floyd. He came to fight and didn’t seem unsettled by Floyd.

He was going to get KO’d even if the headbutt didn’t happen.

Compare that to say Mosley, Guerrero, Berto etc they all seemed to fight in reverence to Floyd.
