I was promoting Charles Brewer when we fought Scott. It was a life-and-death fight. Just before the sixth round, I told Brewer's corner men not to let Charles get hurt or take too much more punishment. Then he went out and knocked Scott down and referee Steve Smoger waved it off. Whew! That was close. Scott was upset and I was thankful. I assume with that knockdown--the second time Scott was dropped that night--Brewer would have been slightly ahead on the cards with four rounds to go, but he was on the verge of getting stopped the previous round.

Good story, I have fond memories of Pemberton, he was always in a good fight and those two with Sheikh were classics. Wouldn't mind an interview with Sheikh next, he was a warrior too.

Good to see he's doing well. Was probably Jeff Lacy's 2nd best win during that relatively short-lived hype train.
