    Per Biv. Back when they were amateurs of the Russian Empire

    they have never sparred before. But sounds like they did drills together

      I think they never sparred and they never fought in amateurs. Beterbiev is older generation. Beterbiev was the rival of Kovalev in amateurs.

          Different weight classes. When Beter was at LHW, Bivol was at MW. Russia eventually moved Beter up to HW (Cruiser) because he had the power for it, and Bivol replaced him at LHW IIRC.
