Comments Thread For: Late replacement Ishmael Davis no concern for rebuilt Josh Kelly

This is such an easy fight for Davies surprised he's not a -900, -1100 favorite. Styles make fights I think Davies is one of the best middleweights in the world and Josh Kelly is not even top 30. Liam Smith would have most likely lost to Kelly due to his style. However, Davies is very slick and will brutally stop Kelly very easily.

Going by the picture, Davis looks like a dwarf next to Josh. He's a small jr welter, unknown, untested at 160. I guess this is a confidence builder.

I was thinking the same, and was about to bet on Davis, for I don't rate Kelly too highly.

However, I noticed that Davis doesn't throw too many punches as opposed to Kelly, who is mostly flash over substance with those eye-catching flurries... This could translate into a serious problem for Ishmael with the judges.

Kelly is going to Muhamad Ali him. I don't begrudge Kelly his ambition, it's his misinterpretation of his skill, like Ryan and his shoulder roll. Kelly wants to fight like he has blazing speed. I'm not saying that he won't get in the trenches, but they're going to have to take him there. I'm not sure Davis is up to it.

Exactly. To me, it looks like Davis has the attitude, but not the sufficient volume of punches thrown. I hope I'm wrong, though, because I like him more than Kelly for sure.
