Comments Thread For: Canelo Alvarez, happy with his night's work, won't comment on potential Terence Crawford showdown

"Now what are they gonna say?" Canelo Alvarez said after beating Edgar Berlanga. "They say I don't fight young fighters. They always talk. But I'm the best fighter in the world."

indeed its so boring. Phoney fights for easy money. I pity the poor people who pay their hard earned money to make the rich even more richer. Whats next for 'money canelo jr' ? mc gregor, eubank jr, big charlo, berto, old pacquiao ?

The sad thing is i believe Canelo does the same to Benavidez, why that fight never happened is beyond me. Benavidez isn't a light heavy.

"Now what are they going to say?" I couldn't even finish reading this article before heading to make this comment I was so annoyed. How about the exact same thing everyone has been saying for years now? You're talking like Edgar Berlanga is on the same level as David Benavidez because they're both young? Now what are they going to say?!!! This night only makes fans even moreso annoyed at the notion you trying to sell the public you took a risk tonight. People unfortunately for you Saul aren't that dumb at least not most of us. You'll always have those fanatics who will defend you making fights with your local pizza delivery guy and selling it like you did something but to hear you try to sell the idea you did something to prove people wrong on things you are criticized for by fighting Edgar Berlanga pisses me off. The only good news is you're running out of punching bags to try to sell a risk less spectacle and will be forced to fight one of those tier 1 guys (Beterbiev, Bivol, Benavidez, and Morrell). Unless the guy standing beside you is one of those names I don't care to watch or pay for any of your fights.

Pls spare me another money grab with Crawford, he cannot beat Canelo. I doubt he could take those heavy artillery if Canelo start to walk him down. Benavidez rightfully should be next. I think Canelo dominates the early part of that fight but the backend is where it gets interesting where Canelo seems to fatigue and not as sharp whereas Benavidez gets stronger and starts to come on in that part of his fights. No one else left for him at the weight so I think the time is now.

Canelo looks excellent , if Crawford wants the payday he should test himself with Berlanga , I think that story would end right there. Crawfords , excellent but far too small . The next big fight at super middleweight should be Canelo v Benavidez , make it happen Mr. Turki ..

Canelo asks “what are they gonna say next?” Lol

The same thing that has been said three years now - grow a pair and fight Benavidez!!

I should have read the comments before posting. I wrote the same thing you wrote.
I didn’t even finish the article after that nonsense he said.

Canelo was supposed to beat Berlanga. He did. Now it's time to make a helluva fight for Cinco De Mayo. Canelo's ranking among top Mexican boxers in history is at stake. Canelo is being backed into a corner.

Canelo needs to face one of two fighters. He needs to face either the fighter they say is too big (Benavidez) or the fighter they say is too small (Crawford). The cherry picking must stop!

While I want to see Canelo face Crawford, he may give into the pressure and face Benavidez.

While I don't think Canelo is afraid of either opponent, he's afraid to lose to one of them. I think he'd rather lose to the guy that is bigger, than losing against the guy who is smaller.

I'm curious to see how the next few months play out
