Called it yesterday, endless cherry picking and inactivity caught up with him. He quit last night, period.

It was hard to watch that. I don't blame Lara, he controlled the fight and I think his power was bothering Garcia. The inactivity and jump up in weight was alot and I doubt we see Danny in the ring again. He gave us some great fights over his career so I hope he enjoys retirement.

the phrase "hanging on" comes to mind with these guys. lara hasnt beaten a top 10 opponent since 2016 and garcia since 2015. it is currently 2024.

What a dreadful fight. Danny came to pick up some retirement money, never even tried to fight, and Lara showed that he’s as boring as we’ve known all along.

I wish that the boxing paymasters like Turki would stop paying for fights that fans have no interest in. I think it’s sad that Crawford has to beg and lick Turki’s shoes ti get his retirement check.

I propose the following Turki. If you’re that desperate to have Crawford fight Canelo, make him earn it. Have him fight Benny or Berlanga with the understanding that he must beat either of those two fighters to qualify for his retirement check. In the meantime Bud, stop degrading yourself and stop kissing Turki’s arse and earn it. Case closed.

Erislandy didn’t knock him out. Swift just refused to try. He simply laid down and quit. He was a broken fighter.

I am not surprised though because the fight went exactly like I said It would.

I said that Danny was underestimating Lara due to his advanced age and alleged diminishing skills.

Moreover, I said that Lara was going to walk him down as Garcia would refuse to take risks by fighting off the back foot.

Now we can see why Danny avoided and never defeated anyone good in their primes outside of Khan and Matthysee.

He was simply never that good. He was very average and overrated at best.
Correction. Danny Garcia is an old retired fighter.

That’s exactly as I saw it. And Angel, rightfully so, kept that hush so that Danny didn’t suffer humiliation to add the beating he took from Lara. Danny didn’t react well to feints, nor the jabs, or straight left. That was a little worrisome how his delayed reaction and eyes shuttering on the knockdown. And props to Lara, he could have got in another defenseless punch but held back because I think he sensed Danny was done.

in times before this retiring generation, Garcia would have always been a gatekeeper type guy. IMO
