    P4P Criteria...

How do you rate P4P fighters?

P4P used to be about who can beat who regardless of weight. Now it seems to come down to "what have you done for me lately". If a fighter beats another top fighter, then all of a sudden without question he is moved up in the rankings.

Some rate Morales above Mayweather because of what Morales has done "lately", but do they think Morales could beat Mayweather at the same weight?

I just want to know what your criteria is?

Is it what it was originally intended for? A question of whether a fighter can beat the fighters below him based on skills regardless of weight?

Is it what the fighter has done lately in terms of a big win or two vs another top fighter?

    etc?

I do mine by looking at records, and acomplishments, ect ect, as soon as Trinidad beats Winky, I would put him back where he was before he lost to Hopkins, and thats in the top three, not only cause he beat Winky, but cause he has a long record.

i use to think like u
      still do

      to me
it should be based on as u said
the ability to win in diff weight classes
meaning that regardless of what weight a fighters at
      he wins

but most seem to think its what fighter rules a division
like p4p no one in that weight can beat them and they beat everyone else
      which confuses me
cuz they put mab manny jmm and erik all on the list
when they were all at the same weight class
so if thye cant be beat and beat everyone how are they all in the same list for feathers

That's a good point. During the Roy Jones era. He was p4p #1 for his accomplishments, through the years, but in his recent most fights (aside from his losses and his destroying Ruiz...) He wasn't fight top competition, but people still had him at #1. I don't know why some people dropped Floyd Mayweather from being #2 just because he recently has fought any big names. I guess once you do something what people aren't use to seeing, they'll bash you for it. Example(s): Roy Jones Jr. getting hit more in Tarver I then he ever did before means he loss the fight in the eyes of many (same thing with Castillo vs. Mayweather I) and Floyd Mayweather not fighting top competition, as usual, gets him demoted in the p4p listings.
