  • Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua will knock out Daniel Dubois 'in style,' says Eddie Hearn

Anthony Joshua will remain on course to become a three-time heavyweight champion if he can get past a rejuvenated Daniel Dubois. At least one person believes "AJ" can take that next step - and do it with flair.

Hearn is right. Dubois is getting knocked out. He is too slow for Joshua.

No matter who you've got, this is a step up for both.

For once, I agree with Eddie. Dubois hasn't matured stylistically even if he can take a shot and not take a knee. He is not fluid or agile and will be knocked out by AJ.

Didn't Edward say exactly the same about Hrgovic.

Personally I'm hoping for a Foreman Lyle slugfest. But that's me every heavyweight fight.

& let's get things straight here, firstly Dubois isn't bidding he is the ibf paper belt champion.
2nd the wording has to change. When Ali was champ he faced everybody, was he 3 times undesputed?(I'm not sure) Or just a paper belt holder like Aj avoiding all the danger men in the division until he faced the best cruiserweight at the time & always with a prefight rematchroom clause.

There's a difference, time will tell but so far Aj hasn't beaten a prime elite heavyweight. Name one? 41 yr old retired 2 year's Klitschko, prospect Parker, nope.

As you can tell i'm hoping Dubois can get Kanye out of there early, or a 12 rd mauling would be great.

For Dubois yes, for AJ at least on paper no way unless you are going to try and discredit the long list of opponents better than Dubois .. we'll start with Joseph Parker who is ranked currently by everyone above Dubois and was when he beat him :-) .. looking at the Ring magazine rankings Klitschko and Povetkin where ranked higher than Dubois is now .

This is a good fight for AJ. Will answer a lot of questions on where he is at.

This version of Dubois is resilient enough and confident due to past sparring. Also back to back Miller, Hrgovic hard fought fights and 10 yrs younger than AJ, means AJ can make a statement or it could be his last downfall.

Either ways he won’t get credit from the trolls.

"Both fighters are in their formative years" - Really? That would be we when they were in their pre-teens. Perhaps they are in the form of their careers.

"At least one person believes that Joshua can take that next step and do it with flair". Disingenuous interpretation. We have no idea what Hearn really believes about this fight unless we are to take everything he utters as a mirror reflection of his thoughts. And who would do that with any promoter talking about his own fighter?
Try with "At least one person says that Joshua can win the fight" - that we know to be true.
Hearn, if he has any boxing acumen ,will know that Joshua is in tough with Dubois, but promoters rarely say that.

I'm not sure who you are seeing as elite HWs since 2012 when Joshua's career started? If you are saying that a 2 yr retired Klitschko isn't then fair enough. An astute observer of the HW scene like yourself would surely not have Wilder as elite - not after he was undressed by Fury? Dangerous yes, but elite? No.

That leaves Fury and Usyk. Usyk he fought twice and they seemed close to making the Fury fight but Fury was contractually obliged to make the 3rd Wilder fight.

The truth of the matter is there are very few elite fighters in any division during a 10 year span - assuming normal definition of elite. Every division has bogeymen at some point or other - the so-called dangerous fighters. Wlad was still dangerous, The Parker win has aged very well.

Now lets see who wants to fight Bakole.

Joshua isn't a 3 time champion if he beats Dubois nor is Dubois a champion currently, it's two losers who've both been well beaten by the ACTUAL champion fighting for his undeservedly stripped likely petitioned for belt.

Joshua certainly doesn't belong with the other 3 time champions like Ali, Lewis, Klitschko, Holyfield though you could argue he'd be slightly better than Moorer but even then Moorer fought stiffer competition and in the case of Vitali he was far more dominant in an arguably just as weak division.
