    Before Omari Jones earned a bronze medal in the welterweight division for Team USA at the Olympics, he was grinding on the USA Boxing national circuit, often overcoming significant obstacles to compete.

    Very cool story. On this site, people often forget — or simply never knew — the level of sacrifice and dedication it takes to make it in this sport. These athletes put in unimaginable work. Most dudes here can’t make it to the gym to work out three days a week, with shiny little weights, then they’ll come on here and call some high level fighter a “bum.” Omari’s story is a reminder of all the hoops boxers have to jump through just to compete, let alone win. Only one boxer from the richest, most athletically dominant country on earth medaled in Paris: Omari Jones. Just a small indication of how terribly difficult it is to make it to the top. Good luck to this kid.

      i live in a tourist area and everyone was renting uhauls in 2021-2022. the rental car companies sold off a ton of their fleet during covid then couldnt buy new fleet cars during the chip shortage and were completely sold out for rentals and all the tourists were driving around in uhauls, so bad that real people that needed uhauls for moving couldnt get one.

        i hear that. Usually it’s discrediting someone for a loss, not fighting the ones we want them to, or some other uncontrollable thing boxers go thru. That goes for commentators, writers, promoters and everyone in boxing. Sometimes these little stories can remind us of the dedication and sacrifice and I appreciate it. Or plan ahead dummies. (Joking)
