What is the point of any fighter facing stiff competition in an eliminator for a title shot? The message I'm getting here is that getting stopped in your previous fight seems to be a qualifier of sorts. The other side of that is that Stevenson isn't truly about wanting to face the very best. If he can't get tank or Zepeda, look elsewhere for the next best quality foe. Not a fighter who was just stopped, regardless of his former standing and credentials. Am I to expect a major world title shot for Jared Anderson in his next contest now that he was knocked out?

I don't think he will be getting the same $3 million per fight offered by Top Rank regardless of who he fights for 5 fights. $15 million total. (At least for this Cordina fight.)

It is known that Stevenson approached Hearn. They had a meeting and this is the result. Could be a courtesy fight proposed by Eddie which Turki accepted knowing he's not paying what Shakur wants. Of course, Stevenson would be hoping to get substantially more for his next Turki fight.

What an awful mismatch. Cordina was badly beaten up in his last fight and would be going up in weight.. why would Turki want to make this fight as it runs counter to everything he has talked about. This is such a bad match up, it must be fake news.

They're trying to make sure that Shakur gets a knockout . Rumor has it that there's a hydration and weight clause. Cordina is not allowed more than eight ounces of water daily for the week of the fight , and can only have a small can of tuna (in water) and a banana daily for ten days prior to the fight. Yep , that's the rumor. People are saying....

Don't know how much this fight will cost. But feel like it would've been better to spend that amount on the Haney-Martin purse bid instead, as that's a much better fight.
