It's easy to own up when your possible punishment is not that severe. Slap on the wrist, maybe a warning, maybe a fine.

But when it's something like punching a guy on the face and you're being charged with assault and possible months in courts and maybe a felony/jail, even professional felons choose to no to own up, because that's a confession. Ppl confess only when deal was made with prosecutor to possibly avoid doing time.

So, saying someone should own up, when it can bring jail on the table? Tough decision.
