I wonder what Tszyu and/ or his team did that Turki doesn't like. Now he's frozen out of that Saudi money.

He could still get a million or two a fight with a name opponent, working with the usual promoters.

I'm sure the guys Turki paid the most are Fury, Joshua and Usyk.

I'm sure he personally has many millions, but most of the money paid to the fighters and promoters is from some account he has access to just for the sport.

As long as he makes fights we want to see it's all it matter, unless you want mismatches like Canelo vs Berlanga on PPV. He can't be a dictator if he is paying them what they want and are happy with the pay. Even if they lose he brings them back. Wilder, Big China man, Miller all came back to his card after loses.

Let’s hope the Saudi’s are still available once Amazon decides to leave boxing. Maybe PBC fighters are fine with fighting once a year and/or facing limited opposition. Morrell, Ruiz, & Pitbull all looked terrible.

I’m glad that there are other fans here who see the writing on the wall about the Saudis controlling boxing. Sure it has looked good in the short term but the honeymoon stage appears to be over and the real play is beginning to show. You don’t want a third world strong man taking over and entire sport. For that ultra narcissistic mindset, it becomes their own personal plaything and that’s what you’re seeing. Hall of fame inductions, “I’m the face of boxing”, what next? Mexican general type uniform and mandating everyone stand for the Saudi anthem?

The fact that Canelo isn’t bending to the guy everyone else is says something about him. Not everything is about money.

Huh? Canelo wants the money for fighting lesser talents. Turki wants to give him money to fight big fights with top tier opponents.

I’d like to see Canelo v Morrell or Benavidez, but fighting someone who just came up from welterweight isn’t the fight I want to see nor do I think Crawford would make it out of the 3rd round of Canelo pressed the fight. If Turki was serious and not acting like a dictator he would work with Haymon to make one of those two fights and in vegas with a co promotion between Riyadh Season and PBC. I suspect there are a couple of promoters on dazn who are advising him against such an endeavour

Canelo would go all out to stop Crawford, he wouldn't get any credit for it, they would say jumping up 12lbs was a step too far etc, but canelo has the balls to take on Beterbiev should he be victorious aginst bivol, he has the style and inside work to win it
