Plenty of Slavs like him have 100 amateur fights, big deal, he never won anything major as an amateur.

You Crawduck ball gobblers are acting like Madrimov is as accomplished in the amateurs as Lomachenko. He never even won an Olympic medal. Just an Asia gold? By what beating some little Asian fighters? lol

He did win the Asian games which isn't so easy in boxing, there's plenty of good fighters from the likes of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan etc.. we've seen them dominate the Olympics. So it still takes a very good fighter to win that. Considering that part of the world seem to dominate the Olympics now, winning the Asian games is probably not much easier than the Olympics. It's not like Americans are putting up any resistance in the Olympics and these central Asians are schooling Cubans.

However it is fair to say its not like he had a Lomachenko type amateur career

Madrimov is very good anyway, I thought he edged the fight but he was never getting a decision

He has over 300 amateur fights and he does have gold in the asian games. He just decided to turn pro early. He defeated Abilkhan Amankul who was a silver medalist for khazakstan 5-0. He could have won an olympic medal. There's no point if you can turn pro now.

Some of the Chinese women in the Olympics were good, but can't see them really turning pro and doing much

You used to get the odd good chinese amateur like Zou Shiming. 2 time gold medalist and was crap as a pro. Not sure I've seen a 2 time gold medalist in olympics be garbage as a pro. I know he won title but he wasn't very good really.

Bud did ok. He's not used to fighting title holders in his first fight in New weight class like inoue does. Bud was a bit spoilt being allowed 5 years to best spence, giving himself the best chance to look good against spence. Usyk wouldn't have looked great against josh or fury in his 1st fight at heavyweight too, if his fight against Witherspoon was anything to go by.

But I'm sure bud will improve the longer he's in division, just like usyk did. Usyk and bud can't do what inoue did
