If Floyd fights the prospect I'm no longer a fan of his.

I support a fighter for his actions in the ring, and when a fighter choose to piss on his whole fanbase, by taking a annonymous challenger, I loose my respect. Remember I'm only saying IF he fights him, but if he doesn't take someone of a high statue, then why the hell would I support him? He's not giving me, as a fan, enough thrill to stick with him. End of story right there.
But no I don't think he will fight him either, but if he does, he sure is in for one hell of a fan-run.

I completely agree, the proud champion would do that, the scared champion whould walk out the backdoor.

You had your tune-up with JMM and cheated him on the scales. Fight a legit opponent, dammit!!!

I was getting ready to say the same thing. Schaefer's the one that suggested it, though hard to tell if he's serious. Whatever the case, I doubt Shane appreciates his "boss" mentioning such a fight.

there's no need to be so melodramatic, it's just chatter. even if he does fight him it's not the end of the world and doesn't rule out meetings with mosley and pacquiao

alvarez will probably actually be a viable opponent soon, the kid is going places

Exactly. This didnt even come from Floyd. It was Schaeffer and he said it could be huge IN A FEW YEARS. Whoever wrote the article said it could be a possibility next year. People just chooe to take things out of context to find something to hate the guy for. Some people are idiots

Mayweather will lose a huge amount of hardcore support if he doesn't fight either the winner of Pacquiao vs Cotto or Mosley. The money excuse isn't there because they are clearly the biggest and most lucractive fights out there right now. Barring him doing something ridiculous like stepping up to Middleweight to face the winner of Pavlik vs Williams, he won't get away with a fight against anyone but Pacquiao, Cotto or Mosley in the eyes of hardcore fans.
