I think they've been carefully matchmaking some of their fighters because of this. For example, Conwell is in a filler fight tonight when he should be stepping it up. Vergil is in a good fight tonight, but he should've had a tougher opponent last time out. I'm not sure if GBP can afford better opponents for their fighters, and their lack of star-power is making them risk-averse. Look what happened to Alexis Rocha vs. Santillan. Ryan Garcia is a basket case, so he can't be relied on. GBP really needs Vergil to succeed tonight.

It's certainly desperate times for GB, they need to team up with Turki more than anyone, because they really aren't able to make decent fights otherwise. They really should just try to invest in the more affordable lower weight classes and attempt some kind of monopoly from 118 down, those fights sell well to fill out cards in the southwest US.

Unfortunately for GBP, MR is the one that has Bam Rodriguez. One more reason for Oscar to envy Eddie lol

Cmon Sims, knock this guy out, preferably in the early rounds

Evening all, how do we see the main event? I'm not recently versed enough in either fighter to put it anything other than a rough 50/50, with Ortiz' championship-level ring rust being offset by his better upside

I remember when Romero got splattered by Kiko Martinez, feels like a lifetime ago. I thought Romero was gonna have a more meaningful career.

First impression of Romero is that he’s there as a jobber. Body looks like he just got off the couch and asked if he’d like to be on tv for a few minutes.

Lmao. That’s funny. Soon as I made this post, the ring announcer mentioned how Romero just got a call yesterday for this fight

Simms just avoided a glove tap by Romero. This guy got a 24 hour notice to fight you, and you’re acting like there’s some super bad blood between them.
