  • Mythical Match Ups

Hey all, I wanted to start a thread about mythical matches between eras and just the fights that never happened.

I'd like to start with Bernard Hopkins vs James Toney at middleweight. I just think this would be a great fight. Let's say the Hopkins that beat Tito vs the Toney that beat Iran Barkley.

Weigh in folks who wins and why?
I like Hopkins by slit decision forcing a rematch.

I think no matter what weight they fought from lightweight to Jr Middle Floyd Mayweather wins. It just depends on how. Tbud would land that right hook maybe once. Floyd would compute that and respond. Good match up.

TBud = Floyd but southpaw with powerful looping shots and less ring iq & defense

Ok so what do think about the mythical match I proposed? Do you like Hopkins or Toney? And if you haven't seen either fight.. watch Hopkins vs Trinidad and the Toney vs Barkley. Great fights.

Bernard due to his ring iq and versatility

            James could be stationary

              You kidding right ???
James Toney was much more than that stationary guy you speak of
Hopkins would have hard fughin time landing on that Toney
Punches would be rolling off him and plenty of counterattacks that would pay dividends in the fight
